Winning With The 4e Framework – Cracking Interviews / Finding The Best Candidates 

I first read Winning by Jack Welch & Suzy Welch 10 years ago; but some ideas just stick, and this one has stayed with me – the 4E Framework.
It’s a simple, powerful way to spot great talent, especially during interviews – and I’ve used it ever since. Here’s a quick breakdown

1. Energy – It’s that spark. These are the people who bring enthusiasm, physical & mental stamina, thrive under pressure and love a challenge.

2. Energise – Not just being energetic, but also having the ability to energize others, to inspire them & bring out the best in teams, especially during tough times.

3. Edge – Those men & women who have the confidence to take tough decisions, even under ambiguity or high stakes. Candidates with “edge” are competitive, confident, and decisive – not afraid to say “yes” or “no”.

4. Execution – People who get things done. Period. That too consistently and effectively. These are the people who deliver results, not just discuss plans.
